OPP_TAG_HORZ_SPOT

In honor of Earth Day 2015, Andegavia Cask Wines has joined 1% for the Planet!

What does this mean? As a business, we have environmental responsibility just like any other citizen of our planet. Aside from producing a sustainably packaged wine, Andegavia is taking it one step further by pledging to donate 1% of our sales to non-profit organizations focused on sustainability!

This new membership is a culmination of what we at Andegavia are striving for: using our business to help drive societal change.  With our 100% recyclable cask packaging, we are trying to create change in the wine industry by reducing the waste it causes and the energy it demands. Without the use of heavy glass bottles, Andegavia is able to save the earth and you some green through reduced energy consumption in production and shipping, providing up to a 75% lower carbon footprint than traditional glass bottles.

Every time you purchase one of our casks, 1% of that sale is donated to non-profit environmental organizations focused on sustainability. Therefore, as a consumer, you can feel good that your purchase with us is directly helping create a healthy planet, empowering us all to drive positive change! Show your love for the Big Blue Planet by supporting businesses which are members of 1% for the Planet!

Here are some more details about 1% for the Planet:

1% for the Planet is a global network of businesses that donate one percent of annual sales directly to approved environmental and sustainability nonprofit organizations. Over 1200 member companies in 48 countries give back to this Big Blue Planet through over 3600 nonprofit partners.  Started in 2002 by YvonChouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% for the Planet helps people buy better products and protect the planet we play on.  To date, our network has given over $100 million back to blue. Great article last week out of Shanken News Daily. In the article, the daily alcohol beverage news service highlights how there is continued growth in the premium boxed wine category, reflecting changing consumer attitudes and behavior (note among higher income and college grads). It’s an exciting trend to be following!

Andegavia…Perfect for Après Ski!

Rocky Mountain Skiing

Loveland Ski Area, Colorado. Photos courtesy of Andegavia’s own Andrew Larson.

If you aren’t one of those people lucky enough to have your own Ski In/Ski Out set up then, like we do, you rent a ski house for the season. Day tripping as we all know is, well a massive hassle & quite frankly hardly worth the effort. Particularly if you live on the East Coast, outside of New York City.

We all know this seasonal drill too well: pack up the kids, your gear, their gear, the dog, weekend bags, groceries, snow shoes, wine, everything but the kitchen sink practically. The whole family jams into the car, one on top of the other. All for a lovely family weekend in the mountains and a drive that may take 6-8 hours. With kids screaming from the backseat, “are we there yet?” As we are still on 287 in New Jersey. Thoughts of fresh non-polluted air, fluffy snow, roaring fires, marsh mellows, & glasses of wine Aprés Ski style fill your head.

The drive alone from New Jersey to Vermont during this time of year with a carful of kids, their friends & a dog is enough to drive any parent nutty. The packing alone is massive effort, which is why Andegavia makes packing one important item much easier. Welcome Andegavia Cask Wines’ 3L cask.

Ok, we’re partial, but our 3L casks (equivalent to four bottles) is the most perfect format for drinking & transporting wine (3 casks equal a case) this Winter Season. From our sleek, eco-friendly, 100% recyclable packaging to our Napa & Sonoma varietals, which stays fresh up to four weeks upon opening, it is pretty much a no brainer! And, even better we ship directly to your doorstep, whether that’s a StayCation in NJ, a rental in Vermont or a chic Ski/In Ski Out pad in Colorado.

Happy New Year from all of us at Andegavia! Cheers to 2015.
